Create Permit Notifications
The Notification Manager provides your organization with a flexible and robust means of tracking notifications to users when a Permit event occurs. To access the Notification Manager, go to Maintenance > New World ERP Suite > Notification Manager.
Notifications in New World ERP are based on user-defined rules. The rules are made up of events and criteria. Events are actions that occur in the system, such as when the status of a permit changes. Criteria define the conditions under which the rule is met; for example, a rule can be set up to notify a contractor (Recipient) when an inspection of a certain dependency level for a permit is issued (Event) and assigned to that contractor for work to begin (Criteria) for the next inspection. When multiple criteria are defined for a rule, all criteria must be met for the rule to run.
When rules are run, they send notifications to all New World ERP users, employees, and email addresses that are defined in the rule. New World ERP users can also have notifications emailed to them by changing their Email Notification setting on the home page.

Before users in your organization can use Notification Manager, authorized users in your organization need to set up a few components, such as security and define the rules, events, and criteria that trigger notifications within the Notification Manager. See Notification Manager Setup for more information.

The Process view is the default view in Notification Manager. Before notification processing can be used, the events and criteria that are available when creating notification rules must first be defined here.
After the events and criteria are set up, you can define the rules for notifications. For information on how to configure events, criteria, and rules, see Process View.

Events are actions that occur in the system, such as when the status of a permit changes. Events available for the permit process:
- Certificate Issued
- Permit Status Change

Criteria define the conditions under which the rule is met. The following criteria types for the Permit process contain a list of available criteria you can select for the designated type. List of available criteria types:
- Contractor
- Permit Status
- Permit Type
- Source
Note: If you do not select any criteria for a Criteria Type, by default the system assigns all criteria for the rule. If you want to specify certain criteria, you must select the applicable criteria for the Criteria Type.

Use the Other Recipients tab to customize automated emails that are sent to those who should be notified by email when a Permit event occurs. Optionally, you can also select data fields (Tokens) to include in the email that populate the email with permit values that are in the system; for example, you can create an email that goes to the Permit Contact that always contains the Permit Number and Permit Type without your having to type that information each time the message is generated.
- Select the check box(es) next to the recipient (defined in the system on the Permit) who should be notified when the permit event occurs. Possible recipients are: Permit Contact, Contractor Contact, and Related Professionals.
- Click the Show/Hide Subject & Message Guide link to expand the available list of tokens you can use and their corresponding values.
- In Subject, type a Token field and/or text for the information that displays in the Subject line of the email. When you type the Token field, you must use two brackets ( [[xxxx]] ) on each side of the data.
- In Message, type the message content of the email and use Tokens as needed.
- Click Save to save the information. Click Close to close the window.
For more information on using the Users, Employees, and Email Addresses tabs see Process View.
