Microsoft Word Settings for XML Documents

When hyperlinks are “scrubbed” in New World XML documents, the following settings will ensure the links do not revert (or “break”) when saving or emailing the document.:

Open a Microsoft Word document.  Click File, then Options:

The Word Options window will open.  Select Advanced:

Scroll to the bottom and deselect Update automatic links at open.  Next click Web Options:

 

Click on the Files tab and deselect Update links on save.  Click OK and close out of Microsoft Word:
