Budget Method List
The Budget Method List page allows authorized users to view the current initialization method and change factor used to initialize the budget. To access the Budget Method List page, go to Financial Management > Budget Preparation > Budget Methods.

Field | Description |

Type | Type of classification (e.g., revenue or expense) associated with the budget account. |
Classification | Classification group to which the method and percentage change factors apply. |
Initialization Method | Method to use when initializing a budget for a specific classification. |
Change Factor | Percentage to use when initializing budgets for a specific classification. |
The default sort order is by Classification. Click the hyperlink in the Classification column to open the Budget Method page where you can select the initialization method and define the percentage that the classification uses for calculating budgets. See Mass Change below for more information on applying initialization methods to multiple classifications at once.

If needed, click Refresh to repopulate and update the list on the page to include any changes made by you or other authorized users.

- To print a list of all account classification budget methods in the system, click Print.
- Click OK in the Print Confirmation pop-up window. The listing is generated and sent to myReports.

Click Mass Change to select an initialization method and define the percentage that multiple classifications will use for calculating budgets.
- Select the Account Classifications you want to apply the change to and move them to the Selected Account Classification(s) box.
How to move items from one box to another:
- To select multiple items randomly throughout the list, hold down CTRL while clicking each item.
- To select multiple consecutive items, hold down SHIFT, and click the first item then the last item.
Click
to move the selected item(s) from the Available box to the Selected box.
moves all items, selected or not, to the Selected box.
returns the selected items to the Available box.
returns all items to the Available box.
- Select the Initialization Method to use when initializing a budget and calculating the percentages for the classifications selected. The default selection is Miscellaneous Transactions.
Note: NOTE: The Initialization Method “Last Year's Posted Biennial” only appears in the drop-down list after the Budget Year is switched to Year 2 in Company FM Settings.
- In Change Factor, type the percentage to use when initializing budgets for the classifications selected. The acceptable range of entry is .01% through 999.99%.
- Select the Carry Over Budgets at Year End check box if budget amounts should be carried over at the end of the year. It may be changed at any time provided that no Funds (Organization 1) exist where the Validated for Soft Close flag is selected.
- If the budget cycle is Biennial and your organization is in Year 2, select the Initialize with Prior Year Transactions check box to initialize with transactions of the previous year.
- Click Save to retain the settings and apply the mass change.
