Long-Range Forecasting

Long-range budget forecasting allows you to create up to 30 years of additional forecasted budget data. By specifying the number of years you would like to forecast, the Budget Maintenance pages can process the additional years from within Annual Budgeting. This allows you to create budget data for future years while you are entering your annual budget information. Current budget levels defined for your annual budget apply to the forecast years as well.

Company FM Settings

In Company FM Settings (Maintenance > Financial Management > Company FM Settings), use the Annual Budget Settings tab to choose the number of years to forecast and the initialization method to use in the Forecasting Defaults section. ClosedShow me.

Budget Methods

On the Budget Method page (Financial Management > Budget Preparation > Budget Methods) you can choose how to initialize your forecasted budgets in preparation of budgeting information for subsequent years. This gives you the capability to refine your forecast numbers each year during your annual budgeting cycle. ClosedShow me.

Budget Worksheet Report

The Budget Worksheet Report (Financial Management > Reports > Annual Budget > Budget Worksheet) gives you the capability to select these future years while building your report. When more than one budget level of forecasts exist, the report will always use the highest level.

When you run the report, the Balances to Include tab allows you to choose the columns that are included on the report. The list includes the new columns that are now available as part of Biennial Budgeting and Long-Range Forecasting. Only 8 columns of data can fit on the report when you print it. If the report is exported to Excel (using the Create Microsoft Excel File option), you can view all of the columns you selected. ClosedShow me.

Five Year Trend Inquiry Graph

The information on the Five Year Trend Inquiry graph also includes the forecast years. To access the inquiry graph, go to Financial Management > Annual Budget Processing > Budget Processing > Budget Maintenance.
