Departments provides you the ability to create and maintain information about how organizations are arranged. The Department Component page allows authorized users to create and define the types and levels of departments and sub-departments that describe an organization.
To add or edit a department component, follow the steps below:
Note: If while updating a customer record you need to clear your changes, click Reset at any time to return to the previous state the page was in before you save your changes.
- Go to Maintenance > new world ERP Suite > Miscellaneous Definitions > Departments > Components.
- On the Department Component List page, click New to add a new department component. To edit an existing department component, click the Component hyperlink to open the existing record. (If needed when editing, click Prev or Next to move to the previous or next department component record.)
- On the Department Component entry page, select the Active check box if the department component is active.
- In Type, select the level representing the component position in the hierarchy of an organization, for example Department or Division. The values available based on the Level settings defined on the Departments tab in New World ERP Settings at (Maintenance > new world ERP Suite > System > New World ERP Settings).
- In Component, type an alphanumeric description to identify a particular department, not the department’s level (e.g., 100). The component may contain 16 characters.
- In Description, type the actual description assigned to identify a particular department, not the department’s level (e.g., Administration). The description may contain 32 characters.
- Click Save to save the component or Save/New to save the component and create another one.
Delete a Department Component
To delete a department component click Delete.
The Delete button is hidden or disabled if you do not have the appropriate security permissions. If you are authorized, when you click Delete you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
