Add or Edit a Validation Set
Validation sets allow you to define and build custom drop-down lists, to define the values (items) within those drop-down lists, and to assign alternate values for quick entry or other purposes.
Validation sets enable drop-down lists in fields on different screens in the software that use values defined solely by your organization. If you add a user-defined field that is a validation set, you will also need to add it as a validation set.
To add or edit a validation set drop-down list, follow the steps below:
- Go to Maintenance > new world ERP Suite > System > Validation Sets > Validation Set List.
- On the Validation Set List page, click New to create a new validation set. If you want to edit a validation set, scroll down to the validation set you want to edit and click on the validation set to open the Validation Set window.
- Enter the validation set Number. This value is required; it can contain up to 9 digits. It is recommended you start with a number in the thousands to allow room for validation sets that will be added to the New World ERP product in the future.
- Enter the validation set Name. This value is required; it can contain up to 64 characters.
- Enter the validation set Description. This value is required; it can contain up to 128 characters.
- Click OK to save the entry.
