Translation Accounts
Translation accounts provide a mapping tool for situations where the number that represents a third-party account number is different than the number used to represent that account in the New World ERP software.
To set up Translation Accounts, follow the steps below:
- Open the G/L Account List page by going to Maintenance > new world ERP Suite > Chart of Accounts > G/L Accounts > List.
- Make selections in the Search fields to narrow your search for a G/L Account.
- Click Search. The results of the search are displayed below the search fields.
- In the G/L Account column, click the hyperlink of the G/L account number you want. The page for that account will be opened.
This page contains a section called Primary Translation Information, that lets you store translation information used by general ledger conversions and the journal import/export functions to reformat data entering or exiting the system.
The Translation Account Group field allows you to create multiple sets of translated values. This is useful if there is more than one external application that needs to interface with New World ERP, all with different G/L Account numbering systems.
- In this section, enter the names of the translation account and account group, and select whether the G/L account will be used for importing, exporting or both.
If translation information is not recorded for a G/L account, the standard account format will be the default import/export account code.
- If you need to add one or more secondary translation accounts for a G/L Account, click Translation at the bottom of the G/L Account page. The G/L Account Translation Information page opens.
- On the G/L Account Translation Information page, click Add Translation Account. With the exception of the Primary check box, the same fields that are in the Primary Translation Information section of the G/L Account page will be displayed at the top of this page.
- If you want to make this account the primary translation account, select the Primary check box.
- When finished with your entries, click OK to save them. You may create an unlimited number of secondary translation accounts.
- To remove a translation account, select it, and click Remove Translation Account.
The G/L Account Listing is modified to include translation account information.
