Budget Billing Payments

The utility expects payment of the budget amount for each billing cycle during the plan year. Payment can be received for budget bills in the same ways as regular bills. However, there are additional rules that affect the payment of budget billing amounts.

Lockbox Import

When the system imports lockbox payments that include payments for accounts on budget billing plans, the third step of the import will display the budget billing plan amount due, plus the amount for any charges from non-budgeted charge categories, in the Balance Due column. This total is the expected payment amount.

Entering a Receipt

When payment is received for an account that is on a budget billing plan, the default amount is the expected payment amount for the budget bill. The manual receipt spread icon is enabled, but it is not a valid option for budget bill receipts.
