Copy a Rate

The Copy function uses the details of an existing rate to create a new rate. It is useful when creating rates that have a number of details in common.

  1. On the Rate List page, select the rate you want to copy. Click the Copy button to launch the Copy Rate pop-up.
  2. The Rate is required. Enter the code that will uniquely identify the rate. It may contain up to 16 characters.
  3. Enter a Description. This field is required. The Description, together with the Rate, will identify the rate in other areas of the software. It may contain up to 32 characters.
  4. Enter or select a Start Date. This value is required. Enter the date on which the rate should be effective. If theProrate Rate Changescheck box on the Bills tab of UM Settings is selected, the system will bill the customer the amount for the old rate up to the date of the rate change, and the new rate as of the date of the change. If theProrate Rate Changescheck box is not selected, the rate that is active on the Through Date of the billing cycle will be used for the entire cycle.
  5. Click OK to add the rate. All of the rate components and cost adjustments on the original rate will be copied to the new rate.
  6. Open the new rate and edit it to your organization's needs.
