Accounts Tab - Accounts

The Accounts section contains two controls that allow the organization to define the source and length of account numbers.

1. Select the Manually Assign Account Numbers check box if the users entering accounts should be able to assign the account number. This check box is cleared by default, indicating that the system assigns the numbers. If you have intelligence in your account numbers (e.g., the account number includes the route or other identifying information), you will need to select this check box and assign them; otherwise, leave the check box cleared.
2. Enter the Custom Length of the account number. This is the number of characters that should be used to create the account number. This value is required; the valid values are 5-99. Having a defined account number length improves consistency and ease of searching.
