Consumption Tab

The Consumption tab allows the Utility organization to define how consumption is measured, audited, and averaged.

Read Types - This section allows the organization to define the titles for standard and user-defined read types.

Time of Use Titles - This section allows the organization to define the titles that should be used for time of use periods.

Seasonal Averaging - This section contains the fields that define seasonal (sewer) averaging.

Consumption Averaging - This section contains the fields that determine the factors that will be used in consumption averaging.

Gas Billing - This section contains the fields that define degree days for gas billing.

Electric Billing - This section contains the fields that define degree days for electric billing.

Consumption Audits - This section contains the fields that determine the consumption audits that performed for meters and non-metered units.

Billing Audits - This section contains the Bill Audit check box. If it is selected, a bill audit will be performed.

Negative Consumption - This section contains the Calculation Action field. The value indicates how negative consumption will be treated when bills are calculated. The default value is Negative Consumption; the other option is Zero Consumption.

Consumption Trend and eSuite Consumption - This section contains the Include Billing Adjustments check box. This control gives administrators the option of including or excluding billing adjustment information from the Consumption Trend Report in Utilities Management and the Consumption Analysis page in eUtilities. ClosedMore.

  • The Include Billing Adjustments check box only affects the Consumption Trend Report in Utility Management and the Consumption Analysis page in eUtilities. No other areas of Utility Management or eSuite are affected by this setting.
  • If the check box is selected and saved, then billing adjustments will thereafter be factored into the Consumption Trend Report and Consumption Analysis page (note that payment or bad debt adjustments are NOT factored in). In other words, for a given bill cycle, the charges from the bill and any billing adjustments that occurred to correct billed amounts will all be combined.
  • If the check box is cleared, then billing adjustments will NOT be included in the report or Consumption Analysis page; these features will report only on the actual charges from the bill.
  • The check box is selected by default.

Billing - Consumption Entry - This section contains the fields that relate to processing based on meter status.

Billed Demand Rules Default - This section contains the fields that define how demand is used in electric billing.
