Consumption Tab - Billed Demand Rules Default
The Billed Demand Rules Default section on the Consumption tab contains the fields that determine how demand is used in electric billing. This section is displayed only if the organization licenses electric billing.
- The Power Factor Line Item drop-down is populated from Charge Categories set up under Maintenance > Utility Management > Charge Category. If a selection is made, it will include a separate line item for power factor information on your bills.
- The (Greater of) Actual Demand field indicates how actual demand is included in electric billing. The available options are Always, Never, Frequently, and Rarely. If the selection is Never, the actual demand will not show on consumption components. If the selection is Always, the actual demand on consumption components are selected and disabled. If the selection is Frequently, the default is checked. If the selection is Rarely, the default is unchecked.
- The (Greater of) Contract Demand field indicates how contract demand is included in electric billing. The available options are Always, Never, Frequently, and Rarely. If the selection is Never, the actual demand will not show on consumption components. If the selection is always, the actual demand on consumption components are selected and disabled. If the selection is Frequently, the default is checked. If the selection is Rarely, the default is unchecked.
- The Contract Number of Decimals field defines how many decimal places should be included in the measurement. The options are 0 through 8. Zero is the default value.
- The (Greater of) Power Factor Adjusted Demand field indicates how power factor adjusted demand is included in electric billing. The available options are Always, Never, Frequently, and Rarely. If the selection is Never, the actual demand will not show on consumption components. If the selection is Always, the actual demand on consumption components are selected and disabled. If the selection is Frequently, the default is checked. If the selection is Rarely, the default is unchecked.
- The Percentage field is displayed and required if the Power Factor Adjusted Demand is Always or Frequently. Enter the percentage that should be applied to the power factor adjusted demand. The acceptable range is 0.00 through 100 percent.
- The (Greater of) Ratchet Demand field indicates how ratchet demand is included in electric billing. The options are Always, Never, Frequently, and Rarely. If the selection is Never, the actual demand will not show on consumption components. If the selection is Always, the actual demand on consumption components are selected and disabled. If the selection is Frequently, the default is checked. If the selection is Rarely, the default is unchecked.
- The Historic Cycles to Consider field is displayed and required if the Ratchet Demand value is Always, Frequently, or Never. Enter the number of historic cycles to consider when calculating ratchet demand. The acceptable range is 1 through 99.
- The month fields are displayed and required if the Ratchet Demand field is Always, Frequently, or Never. Enter the percentage that should be applied to demand for each month. The acceptable range is 0 through 200 percent.
