Consumption Tab - Consumption Audits

The Consumption Audits section contains the fields that determine what read audits will be performed.

  1. The Consumption Comparison audit option is available for both meters and non-metered units. If it is selected, high and low consumption read audits will be performed based on history.
  2. The Too Many Consecutive Estimates audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, a too many consecutive estimates audit will be performed for meters. The acceptable number of estimates is determined by the Number of Estimates value, which is defined in the Preferences section on the Route Listing page. If this number is exceeded, an audit will be triggered.
  3. The Zero Consumption audit option is available for bother meters and non-metered units on active accounts with active services. If it is selected, a consumption audit will be reported for units with zero consumption. When this audit is returned for a meter that should be billed, the concern is that either the equipment is broken or that service is being stolen by bypassing the meter.
  4. The Rollover/Negative audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, a consumption audit will be performed for meters with a rollover or a negative read.
  5. The Consumption on Inactive audit option is available for both meters and non-metered units. This audit targets only accounts that the billing process does not expect to bill, due to the service being suspended or the account being inactive. If it is selected, a consumption audit will be reported when consumption is found on inactive units.
  6. The Meter Exchange audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, an audit will be triggered in the billing process for any new meter that is present as the result of an exchange in the current billing cycle.
  7. The Multiplier Modified audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, an audit will be generated if the meter service multiplier on the current read is different from the multiplier on the last read processed for billing or different than a pending exchange read. This audit will also consider reads on the exchanged meter.
  8. The New and Move In audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, an audit will be generated for the first read on a new or move in account. The audit will consider any meter/measurement on the account, including reads on exchanged meters.
  9. The Insufficient History audit option is available for meters. If it is selected, an audit will be generated when there is no history to meet the high and low audit configuration. It will not be generated if the New and Move In audit was generated. The audit will also consider reads on exchanged meters.
